类型:qbank
Anthropic's recruiter screen is unusually substantive. Skips resume walkthroughs, opens straight on Why Anthropic, and probes the candidate's familiarity with Anthropic's published research, blog posts, and policy stances. Failing to pass this round prevents reaching technical interviews.

Reported question pool
What is your view of Anthropic? Why do you want to work here specifically?
What have you read of Anthropic's papers / blog posts / policy statements? What did you think? Do you disagree with any of it?
Why are you looking for a new role right now?
If you end up with multiple offers, what is your decision framework?
What is your strongest technical skill?
Which programming language will you use in interviews? (Python is the safe answer; Java/C++ require recruiter alignment.)
What other companies are you interviewing at, at what stage, and why are you choosing Anthropic over them?
The recruiter walks you through the loop and reference-check requirements at the end.
What stood out to you about Anthropic's Responsible Scaling Policy (RSP)?
What do you see as the biggest risks and biggest benefits of advanced AI?
What is your current level at your company, and what level are you targeting?
Tell me about a project you led end-to-end — and how long it took.
What does AI safety mean to you — and what could happen if AI is not properly used?
A time something at work conflicted with your personal morals, and how you handled it.
For tech-lead resumes: what your day-to-day actually involves and whether you mentor.
Notes
The Why-Anthropic answer is expected to go personal: a polished corporate answer ("great mission, great research") gets flagged as not personal enough. Recruiters say the mission/culture screen requires a genuine first-person stake, and that collaboration ("smart and nice") is something the loop actively evaluates.
If the team you were matched to does not fit your background, asking the recruiter to be re-routed to a different team is reported as acceptable — raise it early rather than after rounds are scheduled.
The screen is closer to a culture mini-round than a logistics call — some candidates report 50-minute conversations on what was scheduled as a 30-minute slot.
Several candidates report being told after the recruiter screen that their resume goes to the hiring manager for another go/no-go before any technical loop is scheduled. Don't assume "hr passed" = "loop scheduled."
Several candidates describe the recruiter as noticeably proud / status-signaling about Anthropic's bar ("we hire the pytorch creator, the php creator"). Match the formality and substance level.
On the AI-safety questions the recruiter may keep prompting ("anything else?") until they hear substance — a one-line answer reads as unprepared. Treat these as mini culture questions, not warm-up small talk.
The screen is not a formality even with a referral: when your background only partially matches the JD, the recruiter may take a day or two after the call to decide whether to advance you to technical rounds at all.
Preparation
Read at least three substantive Anthropic posts in the month leading up to the call (Responsible Scaling Policy, a recent research paper, a Constitutional AI / Sleeper Agents / interpretability blog). Have an opinion on each.
Pre-draft 60-second answers to: Why Anthropic? Why now? Decision framework if multiple offers? Strongest technical skill?
Have a real, substantive answer to "do you disagree with any of Anthropic's public stances?" — at least one point of friendly disagreement reads better than "I agree with everything."
