Manager Behavioral and Project Deep Dive

HM and manager rounds combine standard behavioral prompts with project impact, technical decision-making, conflict, collaboration, and role-fit probing. Requirements Prepare STAR stories and technical narratives for prompts such as: Describe a failure where you missed a deadline and had to communicate with stakeholders. Describe a decision where you advocated for the end user while trading off a perfect technical solution. Describe a technical solution outside your original scope, why you took it on, and what impact it had. Describe a disagreement with much more senior people and how you resolved it without damaging the relationship. Tell me about a project you found interesting. Describe an operational story or process improvement. Share a collaboration story where you delegated part of the work to others. Share a time when another team was supposed to do something but did not. Why SoFi? What project are you most proud of? What was your most challenging project? What is your biggest failure? Teach the interviewer something you recently learned. Notes Several rounds ask for every answer except the opening question to connect back to one project. Manager rounds can include role-fit questions about what you want next and whether the team actually offers that scope. Weak project impact can be a rejection signal even when coding and design rounds feel acceptable.
